Shri Bala is passionate cook. She has been cooking from the age of 14 and could dish out most complicated Indian sweets at the age of 16.  She is a on a mission to educate the world that south Indian food is beyond Idly, Vada, Dosa and Sambar.

She conducted the South Indian Vegetarian Food festival DakshinRivaayatin April 2016 in Trident BKC, Mumbai under the aegis guidance of renowned Chef AshishBhasin, Executive Chef Trident, BKC Mumbai.

She is very particular about her masalas and right ingredients. She exclusively made sun dried sambarrasam powders and idly powder, sun dried tomato and mango pickles and shipped them to Mumbai from Chennai for the food festival.

She is a south Indian Cuisine menu curator and trains professional chefs in south Indian food.  She conducts food popups and gives lecture demonstration on South Indian food.

She is Tamil Nadu & Kerala Brand Ambassador of eatwithindia ( is an endeavour to reach out to all those who love eating Indian food or want to explore the depth of Indian cuisine.

She is a practitioner of the concept your food your medicine. She along with her husband is on a research of various common ailments and corresponding food as antidote. She is in the process of releasing a cookbook based on your food your medicine.
